The City of
Findlay is a statutory form of government. Therefore, the Commission is governed by the Ohio Revised Code and the Commission’s adopted rules and regulations. In addition to serving the City of
Findlay, the Commission is responsible for all civil service positions within Findlay City Schools. The Commission is comprised of 3 members and a clerk/secretary. Said members of the Commission are appointed by the Mayor as outlined in Ohio Revised Code Chapter 124.40 for a term of 6 years with term expiration dates staggered. At the present time, the Civil Service Commission is made up of the following members with expiration dates listed.

The Civil Service Commission meets on a regularly scheduled basis. Said meetings commence on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. and are held in conference room 1 located on the third floor in the
Municipal
Building, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
The Civil Service Commission “Entry Level” tested positions can include but are not limited to the following:
FIREFIGHTER – AGE REQUIREMENT (at least 18 and not more than 31 years of age)
POLICE OFFICER – AGE REQUIREMENT (at least 21 and not more than 35 years of age)
POLICE DISPATCH
